Raw Travel Featured on Good Day St. Louis

My heart is always pounding hard in my chest when I make an appearance on live TV. I don’t know why it’s so different when I know the cameras are recording my images live as opposed to airing weeks or months later, as is the case on Raw Travel TV.

That said, the friendly folks at Good Day St. Louis on our affiliate KMOV CBS 4 put me at ease and despite my joking about the drivers in St. Louis (they are a little aggressive and I’ve driven in many parts of the world!), the people in St. Louis have always been super friendly, hospitable and polite when I’ve visited.

Thanks for a wonderful time guys.

Here is a video of the interview if you want to see it and while I hate to disappoint, no, I did not pass out from fright… this time. Click HERE to view.

Airport Hotels for Budget Travelers

Airport Hotels for Budget Travelers

Often the cheapest tickets you’ll find online are the itineraries with multiple stops, with at least one extremely long layover. The most convenient thing to do to wait out those long hours before your next flight is by staying at an airport hotel, though this can be an issue for those on a tight budget as most airport hotels aren’t cheap. Convenience can come at a hefty price.

Luckily, there are some airport hotels around the world that cater to budget travelers, and we’ve rounded up some of the best ones for you:

Tune Hotel KLIA2
KLIA2 is the new Terminal in Kuala Lumpur International Airport that mainly operates budget airlines, and anyone who is flying on a cheap carrier is probably going to choose to rest at an affordable nearby hotel like Tune Hotel. Located right next to the Terminal Building and connected via a covered walkway, Tune Hotel costs around RM250 or $59.02 per room, which consists of a TV, WiFi, air conditioning, towel rental, and a toiletries kit. Other amenities will cost extra.

Hotel Ibis London Heathrow Airport
Parking4Less explain that finding a cheap but good quality hotel at Heathrow can be quite a challenge, but just a short, free shuttle bus ride away from Heathrow is Hotel Ibis, the economical option for passengers. Nightly rates start at £55 or $85.65, which is inclusive of WiFi, breakfast, and parking charges. If you’d like to squeeze in some sightseeing before you jet off to your next destination, Hotel Ibis is near the Royal Botanical Gardens and not too far from the city center.

IBIS LONDON HEATHROW AIRPORT HOTEL - 0794

Thon Hotel Gardermoen
Only 10 minutes away from Oslo Airport Gardermoen is a modern and affordable accommodation known as Thon Hotel. Free internet is available throughout the hotel, but perhaps the most impressive feature of Thon Hotel is the daily breakfast buffet. Mineral water, beer, and snacks can be purchased at the reception. Guests are also allowed to use the fitness facilities at its more expensive sister branch Thon Hotel Oslo Airport, which is just a short five minute walk away.

OFF THE FENCE TAKES RAW TRAVEL GLOBAL

AIM Tell-A-Vision® Group Signs Distribution Agreement for Hit US Series

New York, NY – March 17, 2014 – AIM Tell-A-Vision® Group (AIM TV) announced today that Raw Travel® the U.S.-syndicated adventure travel & lifestyle series, will be represented internationally by Off The Fence Distribution.

Off the Fence will be responsible for licensing Raw Travel (18 x 30’) to media outlets outside of the United States and will represent the show at global television markets, including at MIPTV in April.

Raw Travel is a weekly 30 minute adventure travel & lifestyle series that incorporates two of the fastest growing segments of travel: eco-tourism & voluntourism. The fast paced show focuses on authentic experiences to often off-the-beaten-path destinations as well as other more mainstream destinations. Season 1 focused on Latin America & the Caribbean with Season 2 plans for travel to Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia as well as parts of North America.

Raw Travel has been on an explosive growth track since launching in 70% of the U.S. via broadcast syndication last October. The show has been adding more cities to its coverage while growing and winning key demographics in major domestic US markets such as San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Portland and Orlando.

“U.S. passport possession has exploded as international travel has become more accessible than ever. Raw Travel’s ability to bring young demos back to broadcast TV surprised even me,” stated Robert G. Rose, Executive Producer. “Travel programming is extremely popular internationally. As we fill the void in the U.S., having a respected partner like Off the Fence gives Raw Travel an international footprint that’s key to building a global brand” Rose continues.

Georgina Eye, Head of Acquisitions, Off the Fence, added: “Travel and Adventure is a genre that continues to do well for us, and Raw Travel offers a really fresh and exciting take on it. The series gets under the skin of the countries and cities featured, and really taps into the current travelling zeitgeist of treading the less well-worn trail and seeking new experiences. It is a series that has really taken off in the US, and has attracted a younger demographic of viewers, and we know that it will have great appeal to buyers globally.”

AIM TELL-A-VISION GROUP ANNOUNCES “RAW TRAVEL” TV SERIES

–  Indie Producer Announces a New Kind of Travel Series for Curious Travelers –

AIM Tell-A-Vision® Group (AIM TV), the company that pioneered syndicated English language TV programming for U.S. born American Latinos, announced today their latest production “Raw Travel®”, a new kind of travel series showcasing the rapidly growing wave of socially and environmentally aware, independent travel.

The series incorporates eco-tourism, voluntourism (giving back) and adventure sports, with underground music and culture in a way, that is unique to television. The inspiration for the series occurred when AIM TV Founder Robert G. Rose was traveling abroad and discovered a trend among a growing number of socially conscious travelers who were striving for more authentic and rewarding experiences.

Rose collaborated on the project with his long-time production partner, Renzo Devia. The award winning duo rekindled their creative relationship and enlisted the help of other trusted associates from their many years in production to create four (4) complete, one hour episodes. The crew traveled to off the beaten path destinations which offered unique opportunities for authentic cultural, environmentally sustainable and socially aware travel experiences.

True to the title, the program illustrates the raw and, sometimes unglamorous, frustrating reality of independent travel while simultaneously showcasing how this type of travel is not only more affordable, but can spur the kind of growth and fulfillment that rewards and changes lives forever.

“Travel is the most powerful experience I know. It takes you through a wide range of emotions ranging from often irrational fear to almost always incredible fulfillment. We hope to demystify the concept of socially aware travel and, in the process, encourage people to get their passports and go meet the neighbors,” states Rose, Executive Producer and Host of the series. “Travel can spur empathy, deeper cultural understanding and personal spiritual growth. These are experiences that I believe everyone can and should have,” Rose continues.

The episodes currently produced include treks to Colombia, Argentina & Uruguay, Trinidad & Tobago and Ecuador with additional episodes slated to begin production once distribution is secured. An 8 minute video trailer can be viewed at the show’s website www.RawTravel.tv along with more information on the show, links to the blog www.RawTravelBlog.com and more.

AIM TV will be attending the upcoming NATPE convention as well as Real Screen summit to screen the series for interested networks & media outlets.
